GREY CLUB MATCHES. A combined handicap doubles match was played on Saturday, in fine weather. Good form was displayed, particularly by new members and visitors. Time did not permit of the final being played.

The finalists are W. D. Olney and Miss N. Tennent (plus 5) and F. D. Young and Mrs B. M. Davis (minus 3). This match will be played during the week.

Semi-Finals: Olney and Miss N. Tennent beat Randle and Miss A. Bush 50/46, F. D. Young and Mrs B. M. Davis beat Griffen and Mrs F. B. Lawn 50/30. INTER-STATE CONTESTS. N.S.W. DEFEATS VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, November 26. In inter-State tennis, New South Wales beat Victoria by 13 rubbers, 277 games, to 6 rubbers., 242 games, and won the Marsbuckley Cup. In the singles, Crawford beat Patterson 9/7, 2/6, 6/2; O’Hara Wood beat Cummings 2/6, 6/1, 6/4; Schlesinger beat Fitchett 6/3, 5/7, 6/1; Kalms beat Hawkes 6/4, 3/6, 6/4. In the doubles, Patterson and Hawkes beat Crawford and Hopman 6/4, 7/5; Fitchett and beat Schlesinger and Kalms 2/6, 6/3, 15/13. In the women’s matches, Victoria beat New South Wales by 6 rubbers, 161 games, to 4 rubbers, 148 games. The play, without being high class was exciting. The weather was and the courts in good condition.
