CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES. The golf championship competition was advanced a further stage at the Omot'i Tank's on Saturday. The second qualifying round of the senior men’s championship resulted as follows: —W. I*. McCarthy, 78, 77—155; A. K. Smith, 86, 84—170; W. Meldrum, S 3, 92—175; ,1. Cairney, 89, 86 —175; G. A. Revell, 90. 87—177; J. Mathieson, 88 90—178; C. Kettle, 90, 94—184; E. R. Moss, 94, 94—188. The draw for the senior men’s championship (the first ami second rounds to be played before July 17th) are as follows:— McCarthy v. Moss. Cairney v. Mathieson. Meldrum v. Revell. Smith v. Kettle. The following are the results of the second qualifying round of the junior men’s championship: —IT. Brown, 91; M. I\< ating, 99; 11. Watkinson, 101; C. .I..lies. It>3: M. J. Fogarty, 105; A. L. McKav, 165; I). Stevenson, 105; N. B. McCullum, 197. The draw for the junior championship (first ami second rounds to be played by the 17th hist.) is as follows: — Brown v. McCullum. Watkinson v. .McKay. •Jones v. Fogarty. Keating v. Stevenson. The ladies’ Bogey match was won by Mrs P. J. McCarthy, all square.
