Greenslade at Christchurch, when a service at East Belt Wesley Church was broadcast by 3YA and Air Greenslade made an appeal to his unseen congregation to double a collection just taken up on behalf of the unemployed. The replies rolled in from listeners in the North Island, as well as from listeners in the South Island.
