PAINFUL ACCIDENT. (Per Press Associatin'' PAHTATUA, July 9. Bert Bibby, a young man, had a gash made in his left elbow. Ho was engaged stumping, when a jack shifted, and Bibby fell back, his elbow striking another root. He was employed on T. W. Eddie’s farm at Central Road. MARLBOROUGH HYDRO SCHEME. BLENHEIM, July 9. Gatos closing the diversion of the tunnel of the Waihopai hydro scheme were closed last evening. The dam is now filling. The official switching on of power is now within sight? Tho scheme will provide power and light practically to the whole province, at a cost of £300.000.
