TRINITY COLLEGE EXAMINER. VISIT TO WEST COAST. On Thursday next, Mr. Adolph Mann, A.R.C.AL, a. well-known musician and composer, who is the appointee of the Board of Trinity College of Music, London, as examiner for the co]lege in practical subjects—piano, organ, violin, singing etc.—will arrive in Greymouth, and du,ring his stay on the Coast hopes to see some of its scenic beauties from a pedestrian’s viewpoint. He is a keen and experienced tramper as well as a musician of note. Air. Afann received his musical training in his native town, Eastbourne, and under Dr. Otto Neilzel, in Cologne. Besides the piano and organ, his studies included (he violin, violoncello and the clarinet, while of vocal technique, both solo and choral, he has had a large practical experience as a teacher and conductor. In addition to a busy teaching career, Air. Afann has travelled widely as a solo and chamber music pianist, and in this capacity ho has appeared at some of the most important concerts in Lndon and the provinces. His published compositions include, in addition to many songs, chamber music in various forms, a sonata for the violin, a trio, and .1 “Gondloiera” for two violins, besides a variety of pianoforte pieces. Air Mann is equally well known as a turer and writer on musical subjects.
