BEAT SOUTH SCOTLAND. On First Innings. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn ) LONDON, July 1. lire New Zealanders to-day met a side representing the South of Scotland in a one-clay match at Galashiels. The wicket was exceedingly sticky alter rain, and the bowlers had the batsmen at their mercy. Oliver was also tried, but without success. the New Zealanders found Anderson equally difficult, and only compiled 127. South in the second attempt did a little better, and had lost seven for 70 when stumps were drawn, New Zealand winning on the first innings, llie game was not taken very seriously, and was taken throughout in village green spirit.
