PURDY V. FAIRHALL. N.Z. BOXER’S GOOD SHOWING, (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) MELBOURNE, June 21. Charlie Purdy (9.8) fought a draw with Tommy Fairhall (9.5) last night, in a fifteen rounds bout. The bout opened tamely, but liven cd up in the sixth. Fairhall then had a slight advantage, but Purdy forced the fighting in the remaining rounds and used both hands. He appeared the winner at the opening of the last round ,but Fairhall rallied and made a draw. The majority favoured Purdy. ■ BEG TROWERN AT SYDNEY STADIUM. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) SYDNEY, June 21. An alteration has been made in Reg. Trowern’s arrangements. Instead of fighting Fowler at Leichhardt on Friday, he fights Syd Buxton at the Sydney Stadium to-morrow night.
