WEST COAST RUGBY LEAGUE. 1 The weekly meeting of the above was held last evening. Present:—Messrs W. S. Clarke (chair), S. Thomas, Armstrong, White, Buckley, Walters, Kiely, and J. Thomas. The Buller Centre intimated that they were negotiating for the use of Victoria Square for the Canterbury match, but so far had no assurance of it. It. was decided that owing to the lateness in the arrangements the Buller Centre be a’dvised that this Centre had selected August 20th as the next best date, and it was also decided to notify Canterbury to that effect. Wellington League wrote asking what would be the terms for a match with their representative team, as it was proposed to tour the South Island. It was decided to do all possible in aid of the trip, and to offer 80 per cent, of the nett gate for the match. Otago League wrote asking for a match with the West Coast team, if this Centro intend making a tour of the South Island this year. It was decided to hold over the letter till another meeting, pending information as to Auckland and Australian teams touring the Coast.

Otago League advised that they had decided to support the West Coast Centre protest to the New Zealand Council re the appointment of Selectors for the New Zealand team.

A player ordered off the field in the Runanga-Blackball junior game at Dunollie was administered a caution. In reference to three players who left the field in the Runanga-Blackball senior game, it was decided to write the players mentioned, asking them to furnish full particulars why they walked off, the same to be in by next meeting Two new registrations were handed in from the Grey Club. It was decided to recommend to the Fixtures Committee that in drawing up the knock-out fixtures the Town teams which defaulted in their fixtures last week be set down to play at those places. On the question of the BlackballMarist third grade game, held over from last meeting, it was decided to play the game at a later date. The Kotoku Club were granted permission to play a friendly game at Te Kinga on Sunday week. The Runanga Club weie granted permission to play a team from Denniston on the 9th of July. The Advisory Board asked that the ' Fixtures Committee try to arrange for a trial game to be played on Saturday for the sixth grade teams. The Roe. was suggested, or, failing that, the game to be set down for Dunollie. Lt was decided to suitably recognise the services of Mr McDonagh, who has done yeoman service for the League, and presentation will take place next Tuesday. The Advisory Board, at its meeting last night, presented Mr McDonagh with a letter of appreciation for his work on the Board during the time he has boon a member, members of th?
