Air. and Airs A. L. Sutt., a arrived from Christchurch yesterday. Air. T. Hamilton, Christchurch, ur . rived in Greymouth yesterday. Air. C. Hunter (Afanager, Reno .n Collieries) leaves for Wellington today. Nurse Spring will be absent from Greymouth during the next few days, but is returning by Tuesday’s express. Alastcr Noel Newson, the popular young entertainer at the Male Choir Concert leaves by this morning’s express for Christchurch. Air. J. Alurray, a one time resident of Afoonlight, who has been visiting the Coast leaves to-day for Christchurch. Recent arrivals at Revington’s include: Alessrs Alark Gibbs, E. J. Valentine (Christchurch), J. Grant, Boyne (Wellington). Air. J. B. Alerrett (Alelbourne) General Alanager of the Australian Egg Export Federation, who recently arrived in Christchurch intends paying a brief visit to Greymouth. Air. G. S. Pratt, officer in charge of the local Telegraph Department, is shortly retiring on superannuation. Air Pratt has held his present position for the past eight years.

Air. H. Aliller, of the Wellington office of .the Telegraph Department, has been appointed to succeed Air. G. S. Pratt, as officer in charge of the local branch of the Department.

Among the recent arrivals staying at the Albion Hotel are: Messrs Hamilton (Christchurch), 11. Vickerman (Wellington), J. P. Donnelly, A. Carr, V. Birtwistle, C. A. Thompson (Christchurch).

Air. A. 11. Kimbell, Under-Secretary for Alines, who has acted as the Department ’s representative during tho Commission’s enquiry concerning tha Dobson disaster, leaves for AVellington to-day.

Air. ami Airs J. R. Whctter, who have relinquished the management of the Arthur’s Pass Hotel have been presented with a substantial cheque by the owners as a token of appreciation of their services.

Air. IT. Vickerman, of the firm of Vickerman and Lancaster, is at present visiting the Coast with a view to making investigations concerning tha possible development of hydro-electric-ity for the Grey Power Board’s district.

Nurse AL Wiggins, a member of the staff of the Wellington Hospital died on Alondav after a short illness. Deceased was a daughter of Air. and Mrs H. L. Wiggins, of Christchurch. Deceased visited her home a fortnight ago to celebrate her 21st. birthday. A cablegram yesterday from London states: The explorer and geologist Alexander AlacDonald, who was asa| ciated with Jack London in the Kwr dyke Gold Rush in 1879, after wML London immortalised AlacDonald’s dd?* “White Fang” in the famous book »f that name, has departed from London, accompanied by his wife, with the intention of travelling six hundred miles up the Fly River, in Papua. He hopes to locate and live among the almost unknown pygmies. He says that his wife will be the first woman to enter the heart of Papua.
