GREY R.S.A.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Greymouth Returned Soldiers’ Association, was held at the Borough Council Chambers, last evening. The President (Mr. A. 11. McKane) presiding over an attendance of fifteen members. The annual report, which was submitted and approved, read as follows: — “Your executive have pleasure to put before you the report for year ending 31/3/27. The year has been one of continual action for the Association. Our main difficulty is the problem of pensions for men who are now developing disabilities, which are no doubt attribuatable to war service. We have been successful in several cases, while many others have been turned down. We would like to mention that if it was not for the R.S.A. the few men who have received pensions would certainly be neglected, and this fact alone should be sufficient induce meat to the able members to keep the flag flying, and thus assist those who are less fortunate. The President mentioned in the course of his remarks concerning the work of the Association, that there were twenty financial members. It was resolved that the Association continue to function', despite the small membership. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr. A. 11. McKane; Vice-President, Mr. O. McLean; Secretary, Mr. T. P. Ryan; Treasurer, Mr. 11. -Herring; Auditor, Mr S. White; lion. Secretary, Mr. M. Kitch inghain. The following were elected to the Committee: Messrs W. Larcornbe, A. Weaver, G. Gilbert' 11. Trouland and N W. Jones. Arrangements for Anzac. Day were discussed, it being decided to leave the matter of obtaining suitable wreaths in the hands of the President.
