REEFTON NOTES.
(Our Own .Correspondent.) There was a large attendance at the Fire Brigade’s euchre on Thursday evening, the ladies’ prizes being won by Miss M. Kearns, first; and Mrs Gillman, second and the men’s prizes by Air. J. Aiken first and Air. G. Stevens second. The racehorse, Prince Charleroi, has changed hands having been acquired by a local resident after the AVestport meeting for “two bob” with a contingency. The local Tennis Club’s championships are almost finished. Church and Instone won the Men’s Doubles. The semi-finalists in the singles are Hubbard, Worry, Church and Instone. The final for the Ladies’ Doubles will be played to-day (Saturday), when Aliss Taafe and Stallard play Aliss Bruce and Cairns. The season will then officially close. The lady members are providing afternoon tea. The committee have decided to top-dress the courts. Wealth of Nations Aline return during* the month of Alarch, the battery i crushed 454 tons for a return by amalgamation of £6BB/0/1 equal to 28/6.56 per ton crushed. The cyanide works were also cleaned up and from the treatment of current tailings for January, February and Alarch together with 400 tons of accumulated slimes and 8 tons of concentrates yielded bullion valued at £906/13/9 equal to 16/4.22 per ton crushed during the quarter. The yield over all for the period Ist. January to 31st. Alarch was £2277/6/4 or 41/0.84 per ton crushed.
