After the Chairman and Air Prime had dealt with various phases of the dispute which was being referred to the Conciliation Court, it was ultimately proposed by Air Lawn, and seconded by Air Blackmore’, that a local Committee be formed to advise, and work, with the j representatives of the Employers’ Associations. Afessrs Lawn. Discaciati and Dick were appointed as the committee to act on behalf of the local shopkeepers. Il was also proposed by Air Law'll, and was seconded by Air Alcl'Jwee, Hi.-il it be a recommendation tn al! present, to join up with the ('anterbury l .mplo\ ers ' Association. I his was earned. A vote of thanks to Afessrs Prime and Williams for beiim in attendance at the meeting was carried, and the niectiiig coiicliided with a vote ol thanks to the chairman. A'esterday there was a disagreement nt the Conciliation Council over th* employers’ demand for a lower wage standard than provided for in the Dominion awnrd covering the general sec.ion of the industrv.
