PARISH FASHIONS.

WHAT MEN SAY. That evening cloaks of cither gold or silver tissue, elaborately embellished with a large sweeping festoon design in navy or black velvet, are quite the most popular evening wrap of the moment. That despite hints to the contrary, ombre effects hold their own. Some of the new materials of this type have ombre stripes iu a vandycke pattern, some are zig-zag, some arc run with metal threads and others (these are for evening wear), have a super-im-posed pattern in shaded velvet designs. That posies of marguerites made of feathers are tho latest development for decorative floral clusters. That despite the vogue for skin liandbags of every description, black silk ones arc still both smart and popular. Thai? patent leather shoes strapped with lizard skin arc much in vogue. That Cavalier cuffs and a high collar of beige lace allied to georgette to match make a modish race frock. That bands of ribbon threaded through a plisse skirt give an effective finish to a summer frock, especially if the ribbon and tho material of tho frock be of contrasting colors.

That the brilliant hues of the ’fifties and ’sixties of the last century are the fashionable ’ colors for the moment. Supple velvet shows them off to per»fection.
