MOTOR CYCLE RACES.

Once again the public of the Best Coast will hear the roar of motor cycles, the occasion being the lortlicoming liac.e Meeting, which is being hold at Victoria Park on Saturday next. The nominations received have been very sai'isfactory. Altogether Hi riders will compete. Besides the local riders, IL Marsh, It. Shaw, G. Thomas, all of Cliristcliurch, and Everett and Chapman of Nelson have nominated. These are all champion riders, and with some of the local cracks competing, sonic good finishes should eventuate. Judging by the speed attained by some of the local riders in their training operations the visiting riders will have to go to bent them. Besides the speed events there is a Novelty Potato Belay Kaee, whii-h will amuse Hie public between -peed events. There are also two cycle races. and judging by the, nominations received for these events, some good lacing will bo witnessed. There will be a booth nil the ground, and the Greymouth iwunieipal Band will bo in attendance. The Club are donating part of their takings to the Dobson Disaster f und, so besides having « good afternoon’s entertainment, the public of the West Coast will also be helping a deserving cause. A Ball will be held in the Town Hall in honour of tin- visiting riders on Friday evening, and promises Io be a great success. Provided the weathci w kind there should be. a record crowd al Victoria Park on Saturday.
