CORRESPONDENCE.

DOBSON PICTURES. (To the Editor.) Sir.—Please allow me space for a few words re smoking at the Dobson pictures. I don’t think you will find it carried on at any other picture entertainment on the Coast, and it is time it came under the notice of the manager, as I know he will endeavour to- have it stopped if possible. I presume the smokers are ignorant of the fact that it causes a blur on the picture. They haven’t even the courtesy to ask ladies present if they object to smoking, which can only be put down to ignorance. I have heard different ones asked to put out their cigarettes, but made the reply that, as everyone else was smoking, why not they? Anyone would think it was a smoking com petition instead of u picture show. I would advise them next time they are in the Opera House in Grey to read the notices there, and kindly remember them next time they are at the pictures in Dobson. One doesn’t like rushing into print over these mat ters, but the smoking has been carried on practically since the pictures started, and should have come under the notice of the management long before this If they cannot stop it, I’m afraid there will be a falling off m attendance as far as the ladies arc concerned. Thanking you, Sir, for your space and wishing some abler pen than mine had _ taken this matter up long before this, I am etc., A PICTURE PATRON.
