CROQUET.

MAK ÜBA CROQUET CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Makura Croquet Club was held in the Pavilion on Friday afternoon last, when Mrs D. Tennent (Captain) presided over a good muster of members. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the annual report and balance were read and adopted. 5 " I The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: — Club Captain, Mrs Griffin; Deputy Captain, Mrs Hannan; Secretary, Mrs Mercer; Treasurer, Mrs Smith; Committee, Mesdames Hannan, Tennent, McKay, and Hambleton; Auditor, Mr D. McKay. It was decided that the Makura Croquet Club do the catering for the West Coast Golf Tournament to be held in August. Mrs Hannan donated a ham for the occasion. It was decided that members donate 5/- each to the funds instead of holding the annual dance. It was resolved on the motion of Mrs Hannan, to hold a work stall at the courts on opening day. The following are the results of the various competitions held during the year • — Senior Championship.— Mrs Legg (runner-up, Mrs D. Tennent). Senior Championship Doubles.— Mesdames Legg and Scott. Peace Bowl. — Mrs I. James. Shallcrass Bowl. — Mrs T. R. Saywell. Senior Handicap (Mrs Scott's trophy).—Mrs F. D. Whibley. Junior Championship.— Mrs P. Hambleton (runner-up) Mrs A. Phillips).
