MILL FATALITY.
IN SOUTHLAND. “ INVERCARGILL, March 29. Advice has been received of an ao» eiilont resulting in the death of a saw» mill hand, named Charles Kirkland, on Friday in the Catlin’s River District. It appears that a log rolled on to the deceased, causing fatal injuries. Kirkland was thirty-six years of ago, anil was employed at the Lauri«ton mill at Tahakopa. He lost an arm about twenty years ago, as the result of an accident at Waikawa. ine deceased leaves a widow and tour children.
