At last night’s meeting of the Borough council many eulogistic remarks wero made concerning the conscientious maimer in which Air. Sloss had carried out his duties. Ci*. He thought that publia appreciation of his services should be. recorded, and moved that a nuf tion to this effect be placed On the minutes. This was unanimously agreed to. A model house is to be erected at Lake Logan as an exhibition exhibit, and it has been decided that the City Council should take over the building at the close of the exhibition as a resi. •derice for the park keeper. The Reserves Committee of the Council has given the matter consideration, and recommends that an offer be made to take over the dwelling at 75 per cent of the contract price of the building as it stands at the close of the exhibition, on the understanding that the amount to be paid by the council shall not in any case exceed £7OO. and that plans and specifications of tile prem ises shall be first approved by the city building surveyor.
