MOTIVE REMAINS MYSTERY. ROTORUA. June 2-1. The inquest touching the death of Carl Olsen, aged 39, v<nrr Mary Eileen Moors, aged .14, of Horotiu, Hamilton, who were found dead with gunshot wounds, at Lake Rotoma, on Mav 4th, was continued to_day. Evidence was given that the girl Moors went to live with an aunt in Hastings in April. Olsen, who lived with the girl’s parents, left Horotiu by car on May Ist. Two days later, advice was received that the girl had left her aunt’s home. The deceased Olsen, had been worrying over a motor ear accident which occurred at Iloro. tin on April Ist, when two people in Iho car driven by Olsen were killed. Ou May 4th, a workman assisted de ceased 1o extricate their car on the beach of Lake Rotoma. A few minutes later shots were, heard, and both deceased were found dead near the car. Olson was shot in the mouth, and the girl Moors in the breast. A shortened shotgun was found in Olsen’s hands. A medical opinion was given that the girl had not been tampered with. The jury returned a verdict that I the girl Moors was shot by Olsen, who I then shot himself.
