BISHOP GIBNEY
DEATH IN WESTRALIA. KELLY GANG RECALLED. (Received Jun e 23 at 8.30 p.m.) PERTH, June 23. The death is announced of the Right Rev. Doctor Gibney, the former Roman. Catholic Bishop of Perth, who, since 1910, had been living in retirement. The death of Dr. Gibney removes an interesting link with the days of the Kelly Gang of Bushrangers. Father Gibney, as he then was, at great personal risk, entered the burning building where the Kelly Gung were surrounded at Glenrowan, in Victoria, ami administered the rites to the dead and wounded.
