MINERS’ COUNCIL

A resolution from Ngakawau Union relative to tlu* personnel of representation on the Disputes Committee was agreed upon as far as it was considered practicable. Some disputes from Roa and the Grey Valley Union were referred to the Disputes Committee. The Secretary reported on steps that had been taken in regard to registering the District Council, under the Incorporated Societies’ Act.—lt was decided to endorse the secretary’s action. A letter from Mr 11. E. Holland, M.P., dealing with the Council’s resolution (which was endorsed by ail branches) taking exception to the exclusion of delegates appointed to L.R.C.’s irrespective of the delegates’ political views was received.—After discussion, it was resolved, on the mo. tion of Mr. I). Hayward, seconded by Mr. R. Wearn, that the Secretary be instructed to write the Member for the Buller, pointing out that his reply wa> considered somewhat evasive and further asking him to note the objections of the West Coast Council ol Miners’ Unions.
