The All Blacks made their second appearance in Sydney this afternoon against a team chosen from the Mertopolitan and Country districts, in the presence of two thousand five hundred Spectators. The result came as a general surprise. The ground was soft, with a big puddle in rhe centre. The ball was greasy, which prevented accurate handling. The game throughout was very oven, with the advantage in the second .spell with the home-side. Although New Zoahnd did not make such a good sho'wing, it was a much more interest. inn- g ninp than on Saturday. Shaw replaced Fox in the New South Wales team. Then Barber secured from the ruck, and after the ball had passed through several players’ hands, Crossman scored, wide out, and failed to convert his ovti try. New South Wales attacked again, and Reid ducked over under the posts. Crossman added the major points. New Zealand bucked up a little after this, although they were still kept defending their line. Play was transferred occasionally to the Blue’s half, only to quickly return. The N.S.YV. backs were indulging- in short kicks, just over the All Blacks’ heads ,and quick following up •put them in a good position. Harris was playing very soundly, and was called on continuously to save his side. Morrisey, Avho is a big man, used his weight to advantage, and he plaved cleverly. Just on time Donald broke through, and Findlavson finished off a nice movement bv scorinr at the corner. Johnston’s kick failed, and the game ended: New South Wales 18’ New Zealand 16.
