IN GERMANY. GREAT COAT SLUMP. (Received June 17 at 8.45 p.m.) BERLIN. June 16. The Socialist paper “Vorwacrts” states: “The vas/t, business which Hugo Stinnes left has shrunk to microscopic dimensions, and it is now bearing a liability of ten millions sterling. Though the banks have intervened to prevent the collapse, the shares fell 11 per sent., last week. The position Tn the Ruhr is calamitous. Every day pits are closing, and blast fumades are being banked. Coal is accumulating at the pit heads at an alarming rate, making a national crisis certain in the- mining industry shortly.
