! f COMMUNIST ATTACK. ‘on EX-PRESIDENT’S SUPPORTERS MANY CASUALTIES. PARTS, April* 24 At the conclusion of a municipal election meeting, some Communists ambushed some adherents of M. Millerand’s organisation of patriotic youths, who xverc leaving the meeting. Tt is officially stated that the -casualties numbered 3 killed and eight xvounded, all the victims beihg Millersnditea. Two men-were arrested.

A further outrage occurred at midnight. xvhen a party of Millerandites. including a deputy, M. Taittinger, whepresided at the meeting, were going tr. the station. They were fired upon from a doorway. Two xv'Cro hit, and the remainder were preparing to attack their assailants, when a gang of fiftx emerged from a side' street, and compell ed the Millerandites to take fefuge in hn underground railway station, whither the gang folloxved them. The Millerandites, hoxvever, escaped in u a train after a fight.
