Thomas <Hokitika), are sisters of the deceased. Mr James Melndoe, who for the past < ight years has been Clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, and Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court, and who is leaving shortly on transfer to Invercargill, was on Tuesday evening entertained by the congregation of St. John’s Methodist Church, of which he is a member, and presented with a solid leather kit bag for himself, and a set of stainless knives and a Pyrex casserole for Mrs Melndoe, and a book for Master Keith Melndoe. Mr T. Nelson, circuit steward, made the presen. tation on behalf of the office bearers and congregation. He eulogfiised Mr and Mrs Melndoe’s work on behalf of the Church, and conveyed to the recipients th,, congregation’s regret .it their departure. Mr Jones and Mr P. Pullin supplemented these remarks,.
