ANZAC DAY

MEMORIAL SERVICES. Saturday next is the tenth anniversary of the landing on the shores of Gallipoli Peninsula of the Australian end New Zealand troops —the baptism, ns it were, of Antipodean soldiers in the groat world war. Every year the memory of that day is revered throughout the length and breadth of Ne\v Zealand, and in the doing of such is the mhniory of every soldier who laid down his life, no matter on what front, honoured. This year, the annual memorial service will be held in the Opera House, commencing at 1.45 p.m. Returned Soldiers will fall in at the Boundary St. band rotunda at 1.30 p.m.. and march to the Opera House. The Greymouth detachment of the I.N.M. and West Coast Regiment, will also take part in the parade. The Roman Catholic Section will hold a special parade at the Drill Hall at a.m.

The Rev. Martin will preside at the service in the Opera House, and the Ven. Archdeacon Carr will preach the sermon. After the service, the Returned Soldiers will march to the Cenotaph and place a wreath thereon, before proceeding to the Old People's Home to take part in the foundation stone laying ceremony.
