Two nominations have been received for the Masterton Mayoralty, necessitating an election. The nominations arc Mr T. Jordan (a sitting Councillor) and Mr A. Rippon. (ex-Councillor, and late chairman of the Trust Lands Fund). Only eight nominations were received for nine scats on the South Ward of th e Borough, necessitating a . bye.election. GISBORNE NOMINATIONS. GLSBOKNE, April 20. There, arc two candidates for the Mayoralty, Mr George Wildest( sitting Mayor) and Mr Fred Ball. There arc seventeen candidates for nine scats on the Borough Council, nine for four seats on the Harbour Board, and eight for five seats on the Hospital Board. TEMUKA ELECTIONS. TIMARU, April 20]. Air G. Cartwright was elected Mayor of Temuka to-day, his being the only nomination. There are twelve candidates for nine seats on the Borough Council.
