(Our Own Correspondent.) Mr L. Burgess, Invercargill, is on a short visit Io Waiut.a. Miss Avery and Miss (’aniermi are on a visit to Christchurch. Master E. Cameron has Tcturped to Wellington to resume his studies at St. Patricks’ College. Miss sSl.nart left, for Christchurch on Thursday morning, when' she is to bo married on Wednesday next, to Mr L. Burgess, of In vert argil!. Messrs R. A. Stewart and J. McDonnell are visitors to Christchurch for the Easter racing carnival. Mr F. Gibson, who met with an accident at the mine last week, is gresi ng fa vourablv. Mr and Mrs Alan McMasters former ly of Roefton, and late of Masterton, are visiting Waiuta, as the guests of Mr and Mr< R. A. Stewart. Mr Mc_Masters was formerly a well known member of the Waiuta Silver Band. Mr .1. Bright has been discharged from the local hospital. Fred Jackson, the local boxer, who is billed to meet Garvey in Grepnoulh on Saturday night, is putting the finishing touches on his training in Christchurch. The lack of suitable sparring pnUncrs locally, has been a great drawback to Jackson. At the end of thy sixth round Garvey will I know that he has been boxing. News has been received of the death of Eddie, the youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. 11. Smith, former residents of Waiuta. Much sympathy is felt for the parents in their loss. The small son of Mr and Mrs Jas. Pascoe had the misfortune to pull a tin of boiling water over, scalding his shoulder and arm severely. The little sufferer was taken to thy local hospital, and attended to by Sister Ander son, and is now doing well. Mrs Hempseed, who has been on a visit to the North Island returns on Thursday.
