WEST COAST COUNCIL. A meeting of the local Council wa’ held last evening, there being present: Messrs Fass (United), Tilly-short (Watersiders), Lovett (Hokitika), Hincksman (Reefton), Jackson (Ahaura), O - Donnell (Waiuta), Crankshaw (Blackball), Glen (Brunner), Mullins (Stillwater), Giescking (St. Columba) and | Lawrence (Secretary). Mr A. Adams was in the chair. Th-e following bus- | iness was transacted:— ■ Boundaries for competition, Reefton to Ngahere, Ngahere to Greymouth, Greymouth to Hokitika. It was resolved that the press would | be admitted to all meetings. All future meetings of the Execu tive will be held, on Mondays. A committee was set up to draw up rules for a competition composed of the following:—Messrs Adams, Hincksmau and Lovett. At this stage Mr J. D. Wmgnam auI nounced that- he would donate a cup for competition amongst the teams affiliated. The meeting expressed aj preeiation of the offer. Mr Wingham was appointed Patron. The cup will be known as the Wingham eup. The Secretary was instructed to write to the New Zealand Council conveying the Council’s decision to affiliate, and asking the conditions for same. It was decided that all clubs must affiliate and pay" fee by October 21st. The competitions will commence on October 28th. It was decided that all match results be posted to the Secretary- not later than the Wednesday following games. The committee- appointed to draw up rules for the competition will also drawup rules for the Wingham (’up. The Chairman and Secretary were? deputed to interview three gentlemen who are willing to act as a disputescommittee.
