‘ PILGRIMS OF THE NIGHT.” To-night Pollard’s will present an adaptation of fhe famous novel “Pass•ers By,” by E. Phillip Oppenheim, enfitled “Pilgrims of the Night,” starring Ruby de Remer and Lewis Stone. This great picture concerns a group of crooks who have for their leader an exceptionally clever thief known as the “Black Fox.” The latter presides over a fashionable gambling palace which is raided by the police, when they learn that in the possession of the crooks is a large sum of money, stolen from the French subTreasury. r ‘The Black Fox” is captured, but others escape. The loot is not recovered until an amateur det?’, tive traces down the escaped criminals, one of whom is the hunch-back Ambrose. The latter has taken the , chief’s daughter with him in order to , execute vengennee upon Lord Ellingham, the titled Englishman, who is the real father of the girl, and eventually they are reconciled. The pic-

ture flashes considerable action and a wealth of surprise. “Pilgrims of the Night” is a realistic revelation of underworld life in the capita’s of the Old World. To-night’s programme also includes a two-reel Alermaid comedy entitled “Moonshine.” FRIDAY NEXT. Friday’s programme promises to bo a very strong one, when Pollard’s will present Mr and Airs Carter De Haven in “The Girl in the Taxi.’ The-J famous artists will bo remembered for their performance in “Tw?n Beds.” The 9th episode of “Hidden Danger.’ the special 2000 feet of film, depicting the Parliamentary tour of the ►South Sea Islands, and the final for the Seddon Shield, Nelson v. Buller, will be included in Friday’s programme. Next Sunday Pollard’s will show a special programme.
