Henri Bernstein’s greatest drama, ‘‘The Thief,” which, translated into many languages, has been interpreted by the AA orld’s most celebrated actors, is to be seen as a motion picture at the Town Hall to-night and Saturday and at the matinee on Saturday with Bear] White as the star. It. is fhe best thing Miss AVhite h: s done since she began to make feature length pictures for William Fox. She has kept the enormous following she had made in serials. Her very first dramatic feature, Frank L. Packard’s ‘‘The AVhite Aioli,” revealed her talent as an emotional actress. Her long experience in .serials has not only given her a wide public, but lias made her a versatile and finished artist. In ‘‘The Thief” she has the role of Alary whoso fondness for dress and love for her husband lead her into temptation. This role, created for the American stage by Margaret Illington, is one of the most coveted in modern drama. The supports include ‘‘The Branded Four” and a two-reel Sunshine Comedy ‘‘The Golfer.”
