RED CROSS.

MORE CENTRALISATION. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 20. At a meeting of the Red Cross Exetive it was stated that when the armistice was signed there were 1100 patriotic organisations in existence; now there were only 105. Mr Davis, representative of the War Funds Council, hoped that these would ail be eventually merged in the council bv law. All funds raised for the object, which no longer exists, must go to the council. Strong objection was raised by some of the delegates to anything of the sort at present, as the funds in district hands were wanted in those districts. It was also denied that there was overlapping, but it was stated the Red Cross was taking over some societies. Chaplain Mullinoux’s terms of office in connection with the soldiers’ cemeteries was renewed.
