The Executive Council of the American Federation of Labour has called on all organised labour to assist'the railway strikers to win the fight by refusing to do any work dropped by the strikers. The mine workers have notified the Government that attempts to re-open the mines under Federal protection will result in a general strike of engineers, pumpmen and other essential workers. A Pittsburg message states that the Western Pennsylvania mine operators have accepted Mr Harding’s invitation to re-open the mines on Monday under protection of State police and an additional guard, using the tvage schedule which was effective in 1917. FOOD PANIC IN AUSTRIAN CAPITAL. LONDON, July 20. A Vienna message reports that an amazing panic swept over the city of Vienna to-day, bringing all business to a standstill.
