ANOTHER S.G.S. CALL. HJI'TIIGATL IX T KOERLE. WELLINGTON, July 17. The Secretary of lhe General Post Ofliee received the following message from the uflicer in charge of the "Wei lington wireless station: —At 4.34 this morning th-e s.s. Ruapehu advised this station that she had received an S.O.JS. call from the s.s. Southgate, latitude 42.25, longitude 145.50 course N 64. The nature of the trouble is unknown. Il was stated that the Southgate’s signals were fading, and the Ruapehu was unable to read anything further. The approximate distance of the Ruapehu from the Southgate was SOO miles. The Southgate was bound for Calcahuna ( <'hili*) from Sydney. She was off Throe Kings on the night of July 3. FIRE UNDER CONTROL. WELLINGTON, July 17. The Secretary of the Genera] Post Ofliee announces the receipt to-night by Radio at Wellington of the following message from the steamer South Gate via Chathams Island: “9.10 p.m., made distress call at 4.40 p.m. Greenwich mean time yesterday that cargo and bunkers were on lire. The lire is now under control ami all arc well, position is approximately latitude 45/25 south, and longitude .145/50 west. ”
