LICENSING QUESTIONS.
PROPOSED WESTRALIAN CHANGES (Rec. July 8, 5.5 p.m.) PERTH, July 9. The Westralian Licensing Commission has recommended that clubs be closed to visitors outside the hotel hours, and that club premises shall be open to inspection by the police. It is also recommended that the hotel trading hours be: On the gold fields, from nine in the morning till eleven at night; and in other districts, form nine a.m. to nine p.m., as at preNo person, it recommended, under the age of 21 shall be served with liquor or employed in hotel bars. Regarding local option, the Commission has recommended a State- wide poll on the question of a wet or dry State, to be decided by a simple majority ol the votes cast.
