BRITISH PRINTER’S WAGES CUT. LONDON, July 7. The Indußtrial Court has decided that the wages of the members of the Typographical Association, representing the newspaper and general printers in the provinces, shall be reduced by 12/6 a week, in four instalments, extending from the 11th of July to January, on the grounds that a reduction in costs will encourage printing orders. AUSTRALIAN SHEARERS. SOME ACCEPT THE CUT. (Rec. July 9, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 9. The Secretary of the Graziers’ Association states that many sheds are now shearing under the Powers award, all employing unionists, and that a number of important sheds are due to start next week, for which a full complement of men has been engaged.
