Mrs Fenton Kaye, who has been seriously ill for some time past nt the residence of her daughter, Mrs F. Price, Post Office Hotel, AVestport, is now recovering and able to bo about again. The death occurred on Monday night at his residence, Welington of Mr Henry Alexander Lamb, late Deputy Controller ami Auditor-General. The appointment of lecturer and demonstrator in electrical engineering at Canterbury College has been conferred on Mr Thus. Pollard, jun., son of Mr Tom Pollard. The wedding took place at AVestport on Wednesday of Miss Lander, daughter of Mr Thomas Lander to Mr James Bentley. Father Bowe tied the knot. Miss Bentley attended the bride and Mr P. Ryan acted as best man. The wedding took place at St. John’s Church, AA’estport, on Wednesday, of Miss Fox. eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. R. Fox, to Mr R. Clay worth. The Rev. Canon Coursey officiated. A very old Reefton resident, Mr AATn. Gray, died at the age of 8»'» years on Thursday . t the Reefton Hospital. Prior to Nurse L. Burnip leaving the Grey River Hospital staff to take up a professional appointment in Christ* church, she was farewelled .at a sni <*ial evening by the nursing staff. After supper, Sister Braidwood in a happy speech, referred to th good qualities of the departing gm-t and asked her acceptance from tho nursing staff of a nurses’ outfit case, and wished her the best of luck in her now sphere, to which Nurse Burnin suitably i<plie< .
