Mr C. Niven of Reefion. is recovering from a severe illness. Rev. Father Ecelcton has been on a visit to Reefton last week end. Mr T. Saraty, of Kumara, is recovering from a serious illness. Mr P. Hansen, of Three Mile, near Hokitika, has been removed to Mr Melvor’s Hotel at Kumara, owing to illness. Rev. The marriage was celebrated at Cobden last week of Mr Leslie S. Green, of Cobden (formerly of Reefton), and Miss Alice Cressey, daughter of Air and Mrs Edward Cressey, of Ahaura. The ceremony was performed by Ensign Sawyer of the Salvation Army. The new teacher for Reefton school in succession to Mr Rumbold, is to be Mr F. Hilgendorf, 8.A., who was highest in grade by four points of the applicants. He is 57 years of age, and is competent to tea agriculture (practical), chemistry, botany, and mathematics on a matriculation, standard.
