The United Club had a day out on Saturday iu connection with the Rugby seven-aside tournament held on the Park, their teams : nnexing the senior, junior and fourth grade honours. Considerably more hit re* t than usual was manifested iu the tourney and, despite the bleak wind and threati 'i:ng weather conditions, a large crowd lined the rai.nt the Park : fti-r lunch. As predicted in this column on Saturday morning, the junior and fourth grade competitions worked out to a final contest between Vnited and Mar.st in each case. The victory of the Vnited seniors however, came as , a surprise to everyone, for. whilst there appeared to be only one team in the contest (Star A the dele t they suffered at the lands of the Vnited seven was well merited and the latt.-r's win was a popular one. The Mara-t sen.ors dal not last long at the hands of Star A and Star B likewise went down to Vnited. The Marist juniors took everything before them until they met 1 nited in the final, the latter proving too goo 1 for them. The prediction that the weight of the Vnited fourth gr: tiers would tire the Marist boys proved accurate, the latter being placed at a disadvantage to the extent of Bpts to 5. Marist secured primary school honours, whilst the shrimps eompetit.on fell to D.H.S.. after a very exciting tussle with Marist.
