COBDEN TOWN BOARD.
On Wednesday evening the Board held its monthly meeting, there Doing present: Commissioners Billctt (chair), Grams. Walker, .Sotheran, Excell, and Tomlinson. J.cax'c of absence xvas granted Io Cr. Barrett. The Chairman of Works (Cr. Excel!; reported that all work entrusted to the committee had been carried out, except the grading of Blackett Street. It. was decided to allot £2O to Hie Committee tor ; I root gravelling and urgent maintenance work ami it was decided that necessary repairs be carried out to decking u.t bridge adjacent to Air Minchan’s re'The Finance Committee reported that the bank balance was £375/12/10 and accounts totalling £l-14/19/7 had been ])irused and were recommended for paymint. This report xvas adopted. A statement xvas presented showing thal rates £ IGI /J.5/G are oxving for the year ended March 31. Cr. Sotheran gave notice of motion as follows: — “That gll rates unpaid for the past year be sued for.” The Ranger reported that 16 cows and eight horses were impounded during the month. The Greymouth Gas Manager wrote illative to street lighting, and in reference to agreement between the Grcy- . n.oulh Borough Council and the Grey | County Council in same connection.—lt xvas decided to reply that the matters have been referred to the Board’s Gas' Agreement Committee for report. I: was unanimously agreed to support Ihc Kaiata Ratepayers’ Association in its request to the Minister of ! Health regarding reappointment of th'* ‘ di'drict St. Helen’s nurse.
