DISASTROUS FIRE.
KING COUNTRY TOWNSHIP SUF FERS. T’AI’MARINI 1. May is. A disastrous fire broke out early this morning at Kakahi. T’he fire started in k. O’Malley’s boardinghouse (owned by Miss Harrod, of Auckland) and next (•<.ugh! Entire’s g-enemlnstore. <ind then a substantial hold on the hall. A small empty shop owned by H. Fraser was knocked to pieces by the residents. This provided a gap over which tho tire ci.uld not leap to Everybody's Theatre, and a shop belonging to Mr Fraser the only buildings left standing in the main sued of l\:ikahi. There is no t’ire brigade at. Kakahi. but the residents worked s't ivnuously with buckets to suppress the conflagration Had there been wind, the whole sticol would undoubtedly have been wiped out. T’he damage ami insurance are pot yet availal ’ *.
