Tlio Canterbury District Racing Committee dismissed the appeal or Jockey G. Y«»u.ng, against suspension for one month imposed by the Waimatc stewards. Last week we called attention to the unmetalled portion of the Barrytown road. This has become much worse with the wet weather, and if not attended to, the road will soon become impassable. The recent rains did not have the anticipated €‘ffeet on Fng.ui s Creek, on the Rarrytown Road. Although there was a considerable amount oi wnte” in th** Creek, the shingle hank at the mouth was not washed away. .Motor cars still have trouble in crossing. Owing to a typographical error in our repot of Mr Kennedy’s evidence in the inquiry into the accident at the State Sawmill, he was stated to have said there was a passageway between the pulley and the saw.
