ENGLISH TURFITES AGITATION.

A meeting of bookmakers and sports men passed a resolution demanding ihe amendment io the Gaming Act ot 1535, under which cheques paid for bets are recoverable, according to tno House of Lords judgement (cabled on October 25th, 1!'21).. The chairman stated, claims against bookmakers for a refund of cheques Totalled over a quarter of a million.
