CORRESPONDENCE.

RED MANUKA. (To the Editor.) Sir, On reading your paper yesterday morning, I was much amused with the article on “Red Manuka.” You state that there was only one tree found in the first place. This is not correct, as there are acres and acres of red manuka in the North Island, Hl the Bay of Plenty district. Any one who has travelled extensively in the North Island knows that the red manuka is not so rare as your article suggests.—l am, etc., BOTANIST. (Our article, which referred to the “Crimson” Manuka, was based on the authority of Professor Drummond, of Christchurch, than whom there is probably no more reliable authority in the country.—Ed. “Argus.”)
