OBITUARY.

CHRISTCHURCH, January 17. Mr S. C. Owen, M.A., Inspector of Schools, died this morning of heart failure, following on a brief illness. He leaves a widow, son and daughter. Deceased, who was about 56 years of age, was born in London, and came to the Dominion in his boyhood. He was assistant and master in several schools before being appointed inspector in 1911. He was a skilled musician, and for upwards of a quarter of a century was honorary organist of Trinity Congregational Church.
