GREYMOUTH ASSOCIATION FORMED. A meeting of all interested in the formation of an Athletic As; > iation in Greymouth was held last ni ■ and was largely attended by representatives of various friendly societies ai d sporting bodies. Mr G. E. Perkins o •cupiod the chair, and expressed surprise and regret that neither the football clubs nor the Trotting Club were represented at. the meeting. After a : '-neral discussion it was unanimously agreed to form an Athletic Association in Grey, with a view to holding a sports meeting on Easter Saturday. Subscription was fixed at 5/- and a committee appointed to canvass for new members. It was decided to approach the local publicans with a view to securing assistance in the form of a trophy for the main event on Sports Day. A further meeting will be held in a fortnight’s* time when details concerning the programme will be discussed.
