HISTORIC LAWSUIT.

SETTLED AFTER 500 YEARS. CHARLES V. IRON MINE LEGACY. [A. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Rec. January 16, at 5.5 p.m.) ROME, January 15. The Appeal Court at Naples has filially settled a case the litigation over which has lasted for five centuries. It has involved lauds and property to the value of £207,000,000,000. Early in the fifteenth century, the famous Emperor Charles Fifth gave to Hector Bothcn, his Chief Master of Horse, iron mines, water-courses and forests that are spread over a large part of Calabria. Bothen’s heirs have been since seeking a confirmation of these rights, which were confiscated in the sixteenth century. The Appeal Court has now confirmed the confiscation.
