CHINAMAN FINED £lOO. PALMERSTON NORTH, Jan 16. 1 Wong Tin was fined £lOO under the ; Customs Act, for having in his possession non-Customed opium. His counsel’s application, under a provision of the Customs Act for a reduction to one-quarter of the fine because the Oriental had resided in New Zealand for 40 years, and this was Iris first offence of any kind was refused.
