WAIUTA NOTES.

(Our Own Correspondent.) On the Waiiila tennis court last Sunday the return match, between Ihe Cronadun ('tub and the Waiuta Club was played before a goodly number of spectators. The Waiuta footballers have thrown

in their lot with the League game and and it looks as if they are going to be a. formidable combination this season. The McElwoc brothers and AV. Fitzgerald, - of 'Jkamatua (Tnangahua reps.) are playing in Waiuta colours, and a number of the “Cousin Jacks” seem to be fast and nippy players. A. trial match took place on the Sports Ground last Sunday- between local ]>layers and “Cousin Jacks,” ami I am of opinion that if the “Cousins” had known a little more of the Dengue game they -would have “donkey licked” the local talent. The result -was Waiuta 11, “Cousins’’ G. That sterling old toc-baUer, Mick Kennedy, couldn’t resist the ('all, and stripping for Waiuta ho “bogged” into j(. good and hearty. Ho and I.en Kenzitt were responsible for some really good passing bouts. Mickey Nicholls behind the scrum is well placed; with another game or two in that position, he should just about till Ihe bill tn satisfaction.
