(Reed. December 19, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, December 18. Representations in favour of State aid have been made to Sir R. Home by a representative Labour deputation in reference to the prevailing distress through unemployment. Th 6 Minister of Labour, in reply, after reviewing the Government measures to provide wotlc, said he could extend to them no' "hope of relief measures, as the Government policy was not to revive the system of donations i for civilians.
